10 Core Values Of Barn Church

A. Are you going to have a “Mary” relationship or a “Martha” relationship with Jesus?
1. "But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me." Luke 10:40 NKJV.

2. "And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her." Luke 10:41-42 NKJV

~The thing that Mary had chosen was to worship Him
~We cannot serve Him unless we first worship Him.

B. When we worship God we acknowledge that He is: 1. Omnipotent- All powerful 2. Omniscient- All knowing 3. Omnipresent- Everywhere at once 4. Holy

C. Worship is what strengthens a believer—“He inhabits the praises of His people”.

A. We believe that the Word of God is infallible.
1. There is little room for “symbolic interpretation”.
2. A literal interpretation is what we hold to.


B. We are a full Gospel Church.
1. We believe that God has not changed: "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." (Hebrews 13:8, NKJV)
2. If it happened 2000 ago, it is possible today. Miracles or the lack thereof, are not determined by God’s unwillingness to perform them, but by the condition of the Believer’s heart.
3. The times have changed but men’s hearts have not changed.


C. “We read it and we believe it.”


"And He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of thieves." Matthew 21:13 NKJV


A. Intercession is the key to revival.
1. We need to “bind the strong man.”
2. We need to loose the ministering spirits of the Lord on people and communities.


B. Fasting is essential to powerful intercession.

A. We must raise the standard of personal purity.


1. "All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful; all things are lawful for me, but not all things edify." (1 Corinthians 10:23, NKJV)
2. Cell Leaders must meet the standards of the Bishop in 1 Timothy 3.


B. We must live a “crucified life”
.


1. “I have been crucified with Christ and It is no longer I that live, but Christ who lives in me, and the life which I now live ij the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”(Galatians 2:20 NKJV)
2. We need to crucify the things in our lives that don’t edify the Body of Christ.


A. We believe that the family is an institution of God.
1. Healthy family relationships help us adjust to the blows of life.
2. A strong family begins with Christ as its center.


B. Marriage is a life-long covenant.
1. God hates divorce.
2. "For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body." Ephesians 5:23 NKJV
3. The relationship between a husband and a wife mimics the relationship between Christ and the Church.


C. Children are to obey and honor their parents.
1. Fathers are not to exasperate their children.
2. The Fifth commandment says to, “Honor your mother and father".

A. All church activity must eventually boil down to winning the lost.
1. We believe in the “Sure Judgment of the Lost” doctrine.
2. The lost will perish if they do not make a decision for Christ.

B. The Churches primary purpose of existence is to save souls.


A. We believe that God wants to “bless you so that you can be a blessing.”


B. We embrace the values of Biblical giving rather than “materialism”.
1. 2 Corinthians 9, “God loves a cheerful giver.”
2. You must give out of love rather than duty.

A. We place worth on the values of humility.
1. “…not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith." Romans 12:3 NKJV
2. The charismatic Church has to be vigilant in the area of humility.


B. Sincere is to be open and honest. Without flaws that have been hidden.


C. We have to be willing to sacrifice to advance the cause of Christ.


A. The Great Commission: Matthew 28:19—“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations…”

B. We believe that if the Church is not making disciples it is not performing the work that Christ commissioned it to do.

A. The five-fold ministry of Ephesians 4 is for the equipping of the Saints to do the “work of the ministry”.
1. Every believer should pursue his or her “Twelve”.
2. the power of the Church is unleashed when the saints become active in Groups of Twelve.


B. The “Traditional Church” is largely ineffective in it’s current state.
1. God always intended for the discipling process to be carried out in small groups.
2. We must reform the Church to effectively carry out the “Great Commission”.
